　特に変ではありません。

（わたしは、社会学だけでなく化学も勉強している、なぜなら、両方役に立つとわかったから）

　現在進行形にするならbe動詞が必要です。また社会学はsociologyかsocial science、科学でなく化学ならchemistryです。この場合の「両方」はbothを使うといいでしょう（togetherだと一緒にすれば便利、という意味になる）。bothを代名詞で使うようにして変えてみます。

　しかし、これは今まさに社会学と化学を目の前で勉強しているという状況を言っています。常日頃勉強しているなら現在形が適します。

　両方役立つことが分かって、今もそう思うから勉強しているわけですね。そうすると、because節を現在完了形で言えば、そのことが伝わります。

日本語にすると、「 結論として、これが私がこの考えに同意する理由です。」になります。
日本語に訳しても変ですが、原文も変です。

結論を支える根拠（同意する理由）は、「結論」に至る過程の段階で既に説明している筈です。
ここで示すべき「結論」は、その考えに同意するか否かに尽きます。ですから、

"In conclusion, I agree with the idea that ............"
とし、 ........... の部分にその「考え」を述べればよいでしょう。
[例] In conclusion, I agree with the idea that people under 20 should not smoke.
→ 結論として、20歳未満の人はタバコを吸うべきではないと思います。

（化学は「科学」でしょうか？）

"I study not only social science but also natural science, because I find it useful to study them both."
[注1] social scicence → 社会科学 （この場合、社会学と同義）
