ofとinの違いについて

difference of languageとdifference in languageは両方使えますか？
またその違いは何ですか？
difference of opinion とdifference in opinionはありますが。

The differences in languages made the negotiations more difficult.
→使用する言語の違いと理解するとよいと思います。とくにこの例の場合、languagesと複数形になっているところも注意です。ofのときは複数形は使いにくいですね。
Differences in language and traditions can lead to a breakdown in communication.
→使用する言語の違いと理解するとよいと思います。

★difference of language
Collaboration between Sephardim and Ashkenazim was limited, due to differences of language and culture.
→こちらは、言語の相違というより抽象的な概念です。
The movie also reflects unity among the many races in India, despite the differences of language and culture.
→こちらは、言語の相違というより抽象的な概念です。

★difference in opinion → opinionに相違点があるということ

→　tiniestがあるからには、ほんの少しの相違点を言っているのでin。意見の中で具体的な違いがあることを示唆しています。

→　これはofもあり得ますが、inにしていますので正反対の意見とかではない感じがします。

★difference of opinion → opinionが異なるということ。従って、似ているけれど部分的に違うopinionという場合はinを使います。また、「意見の相違」というより抽象化された意味になっています。
The differences of opinion split the party into two factions.
→　意見が異なるから別れたのであり、これもofがいい。
There was a difference of opinion over who had won.　　
→　Aが勝ったというのとBが勝ったというのでは違いますね。これはofです。

difference of language は普通に日本語でもいう 「言語の違い」 でしょう。

言語が異なっている状態。

difference in language は、ネットで検索すると、たとえば下記のところでは difference in language development という形で使われていました。

language に関連した 「何か」 が異なっていることを表わそうとして、その 「何か」 も表現した上で使うことはあっても、difference in language という形で独立させて用いられることは珍しいのではないでしょうか。
