"勝手に決めた"をどのように表現するのがいいでしょうか。

"あなたがリスニングのセクションで非常に苦労したと勝手に決めて、文章にしてしまいました。"

友人の外国人が日本語検定のmock examを受けた際に、おそらくリスニングに苦労したであろうということを、勝手に私が決めて、それを作文に書いてしまったというシチュエーションです。


I made a composition written about you having great difficulty in listening section.

この場合、"勝手に決めた"という表現を英訳するにはどうすればいいのでしょうか。

私なら、

I thought that you had had great difficulty in the listening section, so I made a composition about it.
とします。
「勝手に決めた」という意味はありませんが、「思う（考える）」というのは個人的に勝手に行うものなので。

私には～と思われる
・it seem more likely that
～の可能性が高いように思われる
・勝手には「自由にfreely」が直訳ですが、
　「私見では」とか、「私の意見では」くらいで
　良いと思います。

もっとも単純には、

I thought you had a trouble with listening section and I wrote it.
でもよいです。

もう少し他の言葉でとなると、
I wrote about you assuming that you had a trouble with listening section.
なんて表現の仕方もあります。
