１ As he had been informed of the storm, the ship's captain changed course.

　(For) having been informed of the storm, the ship's captain changed course.

嵐が来るとの知らせを受けたため、船長は進路を変更した。

2 Now that spring has come, we perhaps look forward to better weather.
　Spring (having come), we perhaps look forward to better weather.

春が来たからには、良い天気が期待できそうだね。
