1. All you have to do is put the parts together.
2. All you have to do is wash the dish.
上記の例文では is の後に to を入れていません。
3. All you have to do is to cultivate the ability .
4. All you have to do is to work hard.
上記の例文では is の後に to を入れています。

この違いは動詞の型によるのでしょうか？　
文法初心者で違いがわかりません。　Please help me.

を強調するのに

の構文は無理なようです。

「study」を強調し目立たせるために、この語を「離す」には

What you have to (do) is study.

や、

All you have to do is study.

が考えられ、ここで「to stud」とすると、元の文への（なんといえばいいか）つながりが見えなくなるように思えます。

あくまで元の文の強調であるには、toがないほうがいい。あると文の勢い（勉強しろという命令）が消える。

発話者は「You have to-」と言って、そのあとの言葉をすぐには言わないのですが、意識のなかでは「study」であって、「to study」ではないのだと思われます。

以上は私の印象ですが、参考になれば。

I was speaking to an English learner and said, “All you have to do is read a lot.” And they thought that sentence wasn't grammatically correct because I dropped the word to between is and read.

They thought it should be “All you have to do is to read a lot.” That sounds weird to me.

How do I explain to them the reason you drop the to? Or am I incorrect and it really should have a to?

The is + to prepare expresses an arrangement or plan sometime in the future.
to は未来のことにつかよね。

どちらでもいいです。

to がない方がアメリカ式とも言われます。

普通の文法的には「～すること」という名詞的だから
不定詞に決まってる（あるいは ing の動名詞）と思うのですが，
原形のみでも用いられます。

こういう場合，これから，一回きり～しなければならない，という感覚からは
ing は誤り，というのは大学入試でもたまに出ます。

文法の選択問題で，ing と原形がある（to 原形はありません，あると，正解が２つになる）
原形が正解，普通に考えるとなぜ？となるわけです。

What he is doing now is playing his brother.
これが逆に ing のみで to 不定詞は誤りなんてのもあります。

これも「～すること」だけど，今していることだから ing になる。
進行形の ing と動名詞は違うのですが，関連性はあります。

実は，動詞の原形というのはもともと動詞の名詞形というのが
彼らの血の中に脈々と流れているため，ここで原形でもおかしくないのです。

さらには
All you have to do
All you can do
というふうに，前にある do と対応する形でそのまま原形でいい
という説明もよく見ます。
