■彼は、50年前、10体のxxの彫刻を20年間で完成させようと決心をしました。

半分の５体までが完成したのにも関わらず、
そのyyに参加したことを機に、zzへと気持ちが大転換し、
15年前からはzzの彫刻制作に移り変わりました。

About 50 years ago, he decided to produce 10 xx statues in 2 decades.
Though he had been created 5 statues when he attend YY his mind turned to ZZ and started engraving zz figure.

■1回の漆塗りに、1日７時間、それが５～６日がかかります。
One lacquering process requires 5 or6 days each for 7 hours.

それを５０回繰り返し、ついに完成しました。
After 50 time processes of that, here finished at last.

→　正　Though he had created five statues, when he attend YY, his mind turned to ZZ and started engraving zz figure, instead of xx, 15 years ago.

been不要、ひとけたぐらいの数は書き下すのが良、「15年前」と「移り変わりました」の情報が欠落


たぶん可　After 50 time processes of that, here finished at last.
→　良　After 50 times of that process, here finished at last.

2 decades → one score

been 不要
attend → attended
YY, 後にコンマ
zz figure → a figure of zz (後者の方が丁寧な表現)

requires ... → takes 7 hours each of 5 or 6 days

After ... → Repeating the same process 50 times, I finished it at last.
