The＋比較級の文の訳をお願いします。

お世話になります。よろしくお願いします。

The+比較級の一文なのですが、入り組んでいて長文です。

The longer, the more complicated the sentence the greater the
number of the same kinds of words I had following one after another,
the more the very more I had of them the more I felt the passionate
need of their taking care of themselves by themselves and not helping
them, and thereby enfeebling them by putting in a comma.

の最後の部分です。

The+比較級が入り乱れていて、文構造が全く分かりません・・・。
どなたか分かる方がいましたら、訳と一緒に教えてください。

　→ (文が) 長くなればなるほど ...

　* この the longer は文末までを勢力圏内に入れていると見ていいと思います。

　→ 文はややこしくなり、それにともなって、１つまた１つと、私が意味を把握して使っていた同じ種類の語の数が増していき ...

　* the same kinds of words とは、局所的にはたとえば形容詞の場合が思い浮かびます。より正確に記述しようとすると、1個の名詞に対する形容詞を重ねていくので、その部分だけに意識が集中してしまって、何を述べようとしていたのかが曖昧になってしまうということがあるのではないでしょうか (特に英文の場合)。それ以外もあるでしょうけれども。

　the more the very more I had of them / the more I felt the passionate need of their taking care of themselves by themselves and not helping them, ...

　→ そういう次々に増えていくものが増えるに従って、それらの語が勝手に自分を主張して、こちらではお手上げの状態になり ...

　* the very more は、「増えていった語」 のことを意味している、と取れそうに思います。

　and thereby enfeebling them by putting in a comma.

　→ だから私としては句読点を打つことで、そういった増殖した結果として手に負えなくなったものの力を殺(そ)がざるを得ないのです。

　* ここの enfeebling は前の and not helping them の余韻を残しているともいえる。つまり not help (but) enfeebling by ... （・・・ することで弱めさせるしか手がない）。

次から次に同じ種類の言葉が出てくる回数も多くなり、

the more the very more I had of them
そういう言葉がたくさん出てくれば出てくるほど、まさに、

the more I felt the passionate need
私は熱烈な必要性をより強く感じた

of their taking care of themselves by themselves and not helping them, and thereby enfeebling them by putting in a comma.
そういう言葉には自分で自分の面倒を見させなければならないのであって、助けてやるべきではないし、そういうコンマを打つことによってそれらの言葉を弱めてしまうべきではないという（熱烈な必要性を）
