朝日新聞の４コマ漫画の描写を英語にして英作文を練習している者です。
次の英文から状況が読み取れるかお聞きしたいです。また、文法間違い（特に時制に自信がありません）や英語表現の間違いなどご指摘していただけるとありがたいです。

One day an old lady was watering flowers with a rubber hose. Suddenly the water stopped without her tightening the faucet. When she looked back, she saw her daughter-in-low fall over the rubber hose. As the result, it had come off the faucet.The next moment the old lady ran up to stop the runnig water. It happened sooner than she helped her daugher-in-low.

All of sudden she found water stopped while she had never
tightened the faucet.
(2)
Wondering why, she looked back to find her daughter-in-law
collapsed onto the rubber hose.
(3)
Then the rubber hose came away from the faucet. Next moment,
the old lady ran up to stop the water in hurry.
(4)
It was only after she stopped the water that she rushed to
help her daughter-in-law.

少しばかりよくなるのではないかナー、と、、、

水が止まってから、振り向いたら娘さんがホースの
上に倒れていた、となると、

fall over (上に倒れる)

という部分が、過去完了にでもなるのでしょうか?

この文章の意味しているものが分かりませんでした。
Itはなにでしょうか?

回答ありがとうございます。itは「姑が水を止めに走ったこと」なのですが分かりづらいですか。。。おちを上手く英語にするのが難しいです。
