「それはそれ、これはこれ。」「それはおいておいて」のようなニュアンスは英会話ではどのように言うのでしょうか？教えて下さい。具体的にはビジネスで、あいつ（他の日本人）とうまくやっていってほしいというときに、その外国人が「彼はタバコの喫煙マナーが悪いから嫌いだ」と言う時に、「確かにそうかもしれないが、仕事では優秀だし、この仕事では一緒に頑張ってもらう必要がある」そういうことを言いたいのです。お願いします。

I understand your frustration but at the same time I want you to know that he is good at his work and we need both you and him as a team.

こんなかんじではいかが？he is の　is　と both を強めに言ってくださいね。

このような場合、お決まりの表現が使われます。

"be that as it may"

"Be that as it may, his abilities are highly regarded and we need everyone to work together as a team."

労務管理はいつも大変ですね。「そんな事は仕事とは直接関係ない。他の同僚の文句など言わず、自分の仕事に集中してきちんとやりなさい！」と言いたくなる場面でもなかなかそのようには言えないでしょう。
と言うことで、チーム全員の求心力を重視するような表現にしてみました。

こんな感じでいかがですか？

Indeed he is such a person,but he is an able worker.So we need to work on this project with him.

訳すと「確かに彼はそんな人間だ。でも仕事は良くできる。だからこの仕事に一緒に取り組む必要があるんだ。」となります。


それはそれ、というのは「別問題だ」ということですよね？
“That is beside the question.”(
問題とは無関係だよ）はいかがでしょう。

イギリス人は、「それは置いておいて」みたいな時は、話しの切り替えの時に　any way,　とかのフレーズをよく使いますね。

他には、会話の流れで、 it might be so, but....　とかになるんでしょうか？

』は日本語と同じ感じで
SORE is SORE. KORE is KORE.　で良いと思います。
『それはおいておいて』は
Apart from SORE, xxx,,,. で、これを使って『確かにそうかもしれないが、仕事では優秀だし、この仕事では一緒に頑張ってもらう必要がある』を訳すならば、
Apart from smoking, he's really an able man. You need to get along very well with him for this project.
などでどうしょうか。

He is a bad smoker. I agree with you on that. That's one thing, but how much we need him in the project is something else.
