there was/were no women　soccer or softball club/clubs. この場合は単数形にした方が良いのか複数形にした方がいいんでしょうか？

１．no のあとは（数えられる名詞の場合）複数形になることが圧倒的におおいです。自然です。　なぜなら、実際に複数だからです。

あなたの例文でいくと、いいかえれば、男性のメンバーはたくさんいるわけですよね。それに比べ、女性はいない。もともと１人を想定しているのではなく、複数のイメージが頭の中にあったうえでのこの発言、no women　だと思うので、複数形のほうが自然に響きます。　もちろん、文法的にはどちらもありえます。

例）　「新着メールはひとつもなかった」　⇒　no new emails

５．Humidity ranges between 70 and 90 percent. うーん、あんまりよくないな。以下はどうでしょう。

　　　　　　　　　　　ちょっと変な説明ですが「ない」という事実がたくさんなので。

２．日本人がイメージする学校の「クラブ」ですが、私の子供のいっている小学校、中学校では、after school programと言っています。
我が家はニューヨークに住んでいますが、他の地域でも　こう表現しています。　または　school avtivities, そして、club　も同時によく使われる言葉です。　（例）　guitar club

＃１です。途中どうするのか分からず、他の用事もあって失礼しましたが（同じようなことが繰り返されているので）和訳がご希望なのか自信がありませんが、補足です。

日本では、殆どの生徒が何らかの学校で部活をやっていると考えられている。非常に多様な種類の部活がある。

犬は人間の５倍の速さで年を取ると聞いている。人間にすればそれは８０歳に当たる。

子犬の時はじゃれ回ったものだが、今では何か食べたいとき以外は一日中寝ている。ペットを飼ったことがある？あるいはどんなペットが欲しい？
