選挙の投票を20歳から18歳へ下げる考えはどう思いますか？

Do you think the voting age should be lowered from 20 to 18?
お恥ずかしいですがあまり選挙について自分の考えを持っていません。

皆さんは「投票権の低年齢化」をどうお考えですか。
賛成ですか？それとも反対ですか？

賛成の意見で書いてみたものです。
In my opinion, it is sensible for eighteen-year-old people
to be able to vote. You may say that such a young people
cannot make a sensible decision when voting.
However, many young people under twenty live
by themselves making various decisions every day,
and so there is no reason to think that they cannnot vote sensibly.

I am of the opinion that an eighteen-year- old person
is not too young to vote. I think so because many people
begin to work and therefore pay taxes
before they are twenty and it is unreasonble
for such a young people to be given only obiligations, not rights.
So, it is obvious that they should be allowed to take part in voting (politics)

In democratic society, it is important to go to the polls because the citizens are responsible for politics. Some might contend that as many people as possible should be allowed to cast ballot; therefore, the legal age for voting need to be lowered from 20 to 18 while others assert that adolescent are not mature enough for voters. I strongly argue that the young should not be granted suffrage because of their immaturity and the likelihood that they would not vote.

18 year old people know little about the world around them, having started their own lives. Their ignorance could lead democracy to mobocracy.

They are less likely to vote. For instance, young Americans vote at half the rate compared to their elders.

In this essay, it has been argued that lowering the voting age has no positive effect on the society. Thus, it should be remain 20.

ご回答いただきありがとうございます。大変参考になりました。
実際問題として日本は選挙権問題では、日本は、世界でも大きくおくれた国になっているというのを新聞で読んだことがあります。世界では
「１８歳選挙権」がたくさんあります。１６８各国のうち１４６カ国が１８歳選挙権の国です。
少年法や労働法の問題もありますが、成人年齢の引き下げはevfactor様の反論にあるように自立はしていてもまだまだ本当の意味で自立ができ、大人の考えを持てる人は多くはないのかも知れません。
