イギリスの友人からクリスマスカードとともにお見舞いのお手紙を頂きました。
すぐにでもお返事したいのですが　英語力がなく　時間がかかりそうです。
下記のような趣旨の英文をお願いいたします。

３月の津波で東日本は甚大な被害にあいました。
私は東日本の宮城の出身です。両親が住んでおり、今回の津波で家、会社すべてが津波に流されてしまいました。幸い両親・親戚ともに無事でした。
両親・親戚は無事でしたが、友人・知人の多くを亡くし悲しい日々を送っていました。
また住んでいた地区は地盤沈下により建物を建てることができず、現在も避難先での生活をしています。私は被災地から離れた県に住んでいるので、大丈夫です。ですが今も被災地に親戚や従兄弟が沢山住んでいます。地震直後から物資を贈った自分ができること協力してやっています。
地元も少しずつ瓦礫が撤去され　復興の兆しが見えています。
できることから少しづつ昔のような温かい街が戻ることを祈っています。
私も家族も　前を向いてがんばっていこうと思っています。

Much of the north-eastern coast of Japan suffered a great loss due to the tsunami in March. I am originally from Miyagi Prefecture. My parents still live there and everything from their house to their workplace were swept away. They and my relatives were only lucky to survive.

But they'd been spending their days in grief as many friends and acquaintances had passed away. Also, the area of the ground that my parents lived is suffering sinkage and you are not able to build anything there, so they're still living at a temporary home.

I live far from Miyagi and I'm okay. But I still have a lot of relatives and cousins in the affected area. Right after the tsunami, I started sending aid doing whatever I can to support them. Gradually, the wreckage is being removed at my hometown and things seem to be getting better. I hope I can soon see the warm town it used to be by doing whatever we can one by one.

My family and I will try and keep moving forward. Thank you for your prayers for Japan.

The tsunami in March did tremendous damage to the coastal areas of eastern Japan.
I am from Miyagi in eastern Japan.
My parents live there and their house, company and all were washed away by the tsunami.
Fortunately, both my parents and my relatives were safe.
Neither my parents nor my relatives lost their lives, but they lost many of their friends and acquaintances and spent sorrowful days.
In addition, land subsidence occurred in the areas where they lived previously, and they could not build anything there.
So they are still living in the evacuation area.
I am all right because I live in the prefecture distant from the stricken areas.
However, a lot of my relatives and cousins still live in the stricken areas.
Since immediately after the earthquake, I have done my best that I could, including sending supplies and so on.
In the stricken areas, the debris have been cleared away little by little and they are able to feel the sign of recovery.
I hope they will regain the conventional cityscape.

As you mention we had the worst disaster with Tsunami by the earthquake in March.
Well, I am originally from Miyagi-prefecture, so that my parents and some of relatives are there.
Houses, office buildings, and everything had gone away by the Tsunami, also lots of people were involved and too many life had disappeared・・・
I suppose you can imagine how I have been sending such awful and sad days of this circumstance.

I am a little lucky one not to loose my parents and relatives but,unfortunately, lots and lots of my friends and related people were past away.

I am okay living quite far from the disaster area where it is impossible to build up any buildings because of subsidence of ground.

Lots of victim people are still staying at temporary houses or shelters under bad condition, my relatives and cosins are there too.

I have been trying to help them since then, sending relief supplies or so whatever I can do for them.
It seems better even a little by little to re-construct there hopefully.
I only wish the town will recover as used be, warm and peaceful place soon or later.
All of us keep going to the farther to get them back.

I really appreciate your kindness letter with praying for Japan.

あの光景をニュースで観て恐怖と戦慄を覚えたそうです。
幸い私は直接的な被害には遭わなかったですが、どういう状況かを伝えました。

イギリスの方ということなので、米語では使わない単語が入ってますが
イギリス人にはこっちの方がピンと来るようです。

津波直後の映像で実家付近がのまれていく映像が出たので
両親や友人と連絡が取れるまでの１週間は
生きた心地もせず、ずっと携帯・PC・TVから
情報を探す日々でした。

何をどう伝えたらいいのかも迷っていたのですが、
なんとか年内に伝えられそうです。
