次の問題がわかりませんでした。

(2)はwhenはだめでも、wheneverというのもありだろうなと思います。

whenever they want to が正しいでしょうが、実際はwherever they want言う人もいるだろうなと思います。なお、最初の回答のasでよいと思います。

(3)は、differenceかなと思いました。aboveだと、belowはどうなるの？となりそうです。

どちらにせ1/2会は比喩になるのだから

文章を簡単に書き換えれば

as enduring is an obligation （to） each other under our mutual consideration.

theyをyouに書き換えた方が分かり安いかも・・

be under obligation to . . . 　～に義理がある
(2) asです。
(3)はもう少し考えてみます。（わからなければ書き込みしません、失礼）
