他動詞の現在進行形のingについて

I am interesting him about the book?は使われ、私は彼にこの本について興味を持たせているところです。と訳すことができますか?
ほかには　I am exciting pepoleは、私は人々を興奮させています。と訳すことができますか?

「To interest」= 他動詞

「interesting」＝ present-participle形容詞（面白いもの）
「interested」= past-participle形容詞（面白がっているもの）

他動詞として使う場合は、必ずその興味を引いていることが主語になります。
○ This book interests me.（他動詞）
○ I am interested in this book.（past-participle形容詞）
× I am interesting him about this book.
○ I am getting him interested in this book.（past-participle形容詞）

「Excite」は少し違って、「I am exciting him about the book」という文は間違いではない･･･かもしれない･･･のようですが･･･　普通には言わないと思います。「I am getting him excited about the book」の方が自然だと思います。

とりあえず excite が「場合によっては人を主語にできる」こと自体は英語の辞書の例

interest は... イディオムとしては存在するなぁ.

"(be) interesting him about" の主語は "I" はあり得ないように思います。

主語は人ではなくて「ものごと」。
"Partying just doesn't really interest me anymore." "I asked him what was still interesting him about architecture." といった言い回しに使われるのです。
同様に "exciting people" の方も "ideas that excite young people" "an album that is exciting people all over the world" といった言い回しに使われるのです。
