Science is based on careful observation and experiment 《enabling theories to be constructed {which connect different experiences}》. Regularities in the workings of nature are sought （which hopefully reveal the fundamental laws [that govern the behavior of matter and forces]）. Central to this approach is the willingness of the scientist to abandon a theory〈 if evidence is produced against it.〉

科学は異なった経験をつなぎ合わせて築きあげられた理論をもたらす慎重な考察と、実験に基づいている。仕事の本質における規範は問題や軍事力の行動を支配する基本的な法律に対して希望をもって明らかにするということを求められている。この取り組みの核心は証拠をそれに対抗して作り上げられるかどうかという理論を捨て去るための科学者たちの希望である。　

上の和訳は一生懸命かいたのですが、一番最後のの英文の訳し方ってどうすればよいのでしょうか？CVSとういう文構造であるらしいのですが。。。できればわたしの和訳の変なところもばんばん指摘してもらいたいです。

enabling は分詞構文ととり、簡単にand で結ばれた形として分けて考えました。

結果にそわない理論をためらわず破棄できると言う事が、この取り組みの核心である。

evidenceは実験結果による根拠のことと思いますが、簡単に結果という言葉を充てています。
