下記の英語の添削をお願いします。

日曜大工の醍醐味は、作り始める前には想定していなかった様々な想定外の出来事とどう対峙するか、ということにある。もの作りにおいては、こうなるはず、と思ったのに、実際にやってみる（つくり始めてみる）と想像とは違ったことが起こることが多々ある。そしてそれが作っているものの上に明白にあらわれるのでおもしろい（つまり、ごまかしがきかない、ということ）。私にとって、ものを作ることの楽しみは、想定（したこと）と実際（に起きたこと）の間にできる明白なギャップをいかに楽しみながら対処し修正していくかということだ。

The most fun part of do-it-yourself type project is to deal with the various happenings that were not expected before you start making. In making things, it happens a lot that things you expected do not turn out in the way you imagined. It is fun because it is so obvious when such gaps happen as they clearly appear on the object that you work on. You can't pretend that you're doing well as your mistakes are visible. For me, what is interesting in do-it-yourself type project is how I can playfully deal with the gap between expected and unexpected things and try to make things work.

※日本語の文はだいたいのアイデアなので読みにくくて申し訳ないです。カッコや、主語、動詞、など一字一句なぞって英訳する必要はないです。冠詞や時制、代名詞（指示語？）、もっと別のスマートな言い方ができそうなところ、全体でなくても部分だけでもサジェスチョン・訂正などいただけたらうれしいです。

最後のキメのセンテンス

が、ややパンチ不足であるかもしれないと感じました。
あくまで日本文に基づいた英訳でございますが、

After all what interests me most in DIY activities lies in the joyous deal with the inevitable gaps between the expected and the unexpected and further the process to solve them.

等の言い回しも参考下されば。

ありがとうございます！（褒めていただけたのもうれしいです）自分だけで考えるより、こうしてご意見をいただけると本当に参考になります。

what interests me most、lies in などの言い回しが私にはすっと出てきませんので勉強になりました。after all や inevitable を付け足すことも意味が強調されて、なるほどと思います。expected と unexpected には the が要るんですね？そして further the process to solve them という表現もいいですね。私の making things work だと things が何をさしているのか曖昧かもしれないと思っていました。なので、「それらギャップやズレを解消するべくプロセスを進めていくこと（が楽しい）」というふう締めくくればいいのですね。

いただいた表現ぜひ使いたいと思います。
