英訳のアドバイスください。 （建築について）

「組物」とは寺院の建築などれ発達した、深い軒を支えるための装置です一般には柱の頂部にあって、「斗(と)」と「肘木(ひじき)」を交互に組 み合わせて前方に突き出し、深い軒を支えるのです。

質問：上の文章は日本の建築物についてなのですが、これを英訳したいのです。やってみた部分だけ書きます。

“Kumimono (bracket complex)”is a device to support large eaves, which was developed in temple constructions. Usually, it is at the top of the post ****************** to support large eaves.

DIYが趣味で建物に興味があるので、難しいテーマですが敢えて挑戦してみます。

装置をdeviceと訳しておられますが、むしろ構造体structureではと考えました。
＜柱の頂部にあって＞は寝殿造りの英語論文にis placed on the top of the pillar と有りました
のでこれを採用しました。
「斗(と)」と「肘木(ひじき)」の英訳は下記URLの辞書を参考にしました。
＜深い軒＞は直訳ではdeep eavesですが、やはりlarge eavesが一般的なようです。
＜交互に組 み合わせて前方に突き出し＞はイメージは判るのですが訳は全く自信有りません。

載せてあった文をそのまま訳してみました

The ancon is a device to be able to support the all deep eaves which developed which are the building of the temple; generally, in the top of the pillar, "put the to "grip of a hand mill" (a brown alga) together in turn, and push it out forward, and can support the deep eaves".
